Combination Welder

You will learn to:

  • Operate fire and electricity to design, dismantle and construct a wide range of metal products
  • Develop the confidence, work ethic, team cooperation, and stamina necessary for a career in fabrication
  • Utilize a wide range of welding processes to earn essential industry recognized certifications

Description

This program will teach students to do quality welding for a variety of construction and manufacturing jobs using multiple structural welding techniques. Instruction will cover welding theory and safety, fabrication, layout, print reading, symbols, math, welding codes, metal characteristics/properties and oxyfuel cutting. Students will learn to perform high quality welds in accordance with welding procedure specifications used in a variety of welding occupations. They will also gain an introduction to pipe welding skills, using SMAW, FCAW and GTAW techniques.

Class hours

This program may be taken as a half-day session in the morning or afternoon, or as a full-day option for ADULT students who wish to accelerate their progress. 

Lawton Campus Times: Morning sessions run from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., afternoon sessions from 11:50 a.m. to 2:50 p.m., and the full-day schedule combines both sessions.

Frederick Campus Times: Morning sessions run from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., afternoon sessions from 12:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and the full-day schedule combines both sessions.
