Paramedic - Lawton Campus
The Paramedic Course is accredited program through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Professions (CoAEMSP).
Students are introduced to the world of paramedicine, learning the roles and responsibilities through the review of medical, legal, and ethical issues, as well as the foundations in pathophysiology, pharmacology, patient assessment, advanced airway management, medication administration, trauma, cardiology, and numerous medical issues. In the classroom, students are prepared for introduction to the clinical setting, where they will be exposed to actual patient contact in operating rooms, critical care, emergency rooms and other clinical settings as well as in an ambulance service with a paramedic.
