Advanced EMT
This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of pre-hospital emergency medicine at the Advanced EMT level. The Advanced EMT level course reviews EMT knowledge and emphasizes the treatment of shock using intravenous infusion, respiratory management with the use of adjunctive airway devices, pathophysiology, and general pharmacology. Throughout this course students will be exposed to related anatomy, physiology, practical skills and the New National Education Standards for this level of care. A field and hospital practicum is an integral part of this course. Students will be required to complete approximately 140 hours of clinical rotations.
