Kent teaches farmers and agricultural producers how to keep accurate financial records and helps them with Oklahoma linked deposit loans, whole farm analysis, stocker cattle record keeping, cow-calf record keeping, FSA loan applications, borrower training, Quicken, and Excel record training.
 
With over 30 years of farming experience, he knows that being a successful farmer requires knowledge of advanced technology, educational preparation, and business skills.
 
Prior to joining GPTC, he was Vice-President and Loan Officer of the Cyril State Bank for six years, taught agriculture education at the secondary level for five years, and was a specialist for the Oklahoma State University Intensive Financial Management and Planning Support program for 13 years.
 
Kent has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Agriculture Education from Oklahoma State  University and a certificate in Bank Operations from the Oklahoma School of Banking. He is a member of the National Farm and Ranch Business Management Education Association, the Lawton and Frederick Chamber of Commerce and Industry Agriculture Committees, the Fletcher Lions Club, the Wichita Wildlight Photographic Society, the Fletcher Historical Society, the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association, the Fletcher Alumni Association, and a trustee for the town of Fletcher.
 
An avid photographer, he has attended numerous digital photography and Photoshop works workshop training sessions and has taught digital photography and Photoshop Elements to rural communities in the Great Plains Technology Center’s school district.
