The 2010-2011 School Year Off and Running ~

Bio-med students await their turn to have their photos taken for school I.D. badges

Great Plains Technology Center welcomed nearly 700 high school students to kick off the 2010-2011 school year. The last few weeks have been fun and exciting as new and returning students have gotten into the Great Plains routine.

Prior to the start of classes, students and their parents were invited to a special night of welcome, GPTech NOW. The event welcomed both parents and students and provided opportunities to tour classrooms; meet instructors, administrators, counselors and support staff; learn about student services; student organizations; college credits; as well as to enjoy ice cream novelties.

An all school orientation was held on August 24th. This event featured guided tours of the campus as well as an assembly where students learned more about policies and procedures, including name badges, parking permits, attendance, etc.; student services; college credits; special events and much more. Students even had an opportunity to enjoy ice cream and win a door prize in a special drawing.

Cache High School junior and GPTC Bio-Med student, Alicia Richey is all smiles as she has her photo taken for her new student I.D.

The 2010-2011 school year is off to a fantastic start. If you would still like to make Great Plains Technology Center a part of your high school experience, or if you are an adult and would to apply, please call 250-5640 for more information.
